Odesa Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy named after M. Vodyanyi
Request a consultationThe theatre opened its first season in the spring of 1947 in Lviv, then moved to Odesa in 1953, where the troupe's creative potential could fully unfold — shows about Odesa and its people became the theatre's calling card. Mykhailo Vodyanyi, Yevheniia Dembska, Yurii Dynov and other legendary performers took this stage. In 1981 the theatre moved into a new, purpose-built home — today one of the city's best-equipped and largest stages. It was granted academic status in 2006. Its repertoire includes classic operettas ("Die Fledermaus," "Silva," "Countess Maritza"), musicals ("Behind Two Hares," "Some Like It Hot"), rock operas ("Romeo and Juliet") and shows for children.
