The thyroid produces the T3 and T4 hormones, which regulate metabolism and affect nearly every process in the body: energy levels, weight, sleep, mood, heart rate, skin, and hair.
When it's recommended
- Chronic fatigue, unexplained weakness, or sudden weight gain or loss.
- Swelling, hair loss, dry skin, or a feeling of a lump in the throat.
- A racing heartbeat, anxiety, irritability, or body tremors.
- Menstrual cycle irregularities or difficulty conceiving.
Benefits
A hormone panel
TSH, free T4, free T3, and TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies (if indicated).
Thyroid ultrasound
Assesses the gland's structure, identifies nodules or inflammatory changes, and helps distinguish benign changes from ones needing further workup.
Endocrinologist consultation
The doctor reviews the results and symptoms and provides recommendations for next steps.
What's included in the price
The program includes: TSH, free T4, free T3, and TPO antibody tests, a thyroid ultrasound, and an endocrinologist consultation. Blood tests are usually taken in the morning on an empty stomach.
